What is OBD2?

OBD2 (On-Board Diagnostics II) is the second generation on-board diagnostic system and a standardized system for detecting and diagnosing automobile faults. It originated in the United States and is designed to help car manufacturers and maintenance personnel detect car faults more conveniently and quickly. Through standardized diagnostic interfaces and communication protocols, OBD2 enables cars of various brands and models to use the same diagnostic instrument for fault diagnosis.

Communication protocols used in the OBD2 protocol standard include ISO9141-2, ISO14230-4 (KWP2000), SAEJ1850PWM, SAEJ1850VPM and ISO15765-4 (CAN-BUS). These protocols provide unified communication standards for automotive fault diagnosis.

The OBD2 system can simplify the diagnosis of car faults and diagnose faults in a unified manner. Maintenance personnel no longer need to learn new systems from different manufacturers. With the continuous development of automotive technology, the OBD2 protocol has been widely used around the world and has become a common standard in the global automotive industry.

  1. You really make it seem so easy along with your
presentation but I find this matter to be really something that I feel I would never
understand. It kind of feels too complicated and very
vast for me. I am having a look forward for your subsequent publish,
I will attempt to get the dangle of it!
